Security Forces seize huge cache of weapons including mortar shells

PESHAWAR - In Bajaur Agency, security forcesfoiled a terrorist bid by recovering large cache of weapons and mortar shells from border area of Mamond tehsil on Wednesday.

Officials of Bajaur Scouts told reporters at Khaar, the headquarters of Bajaur Agency, that the weapons were recovered in Kaga area, located near the Pak-Afghan border during a search operation conducted by the personnel of Frontier Crops.

The arms cache seized by the forces include fifty two 82-mm mortar shells, Twenty-eight  62-mm mortar shells, 20 Rocket-Propelled Grenade shells, one Russian -made anti-tank mine, Two Improvised explosive device (IED), one Russian -made missile, two kilogram explosives and one tripod.

The officials of Bajaur Scouts said that all the weapons were recovered from a cave.

They said the action was part of the Radul Fasaad operation which was aimed at purging the agency of anti-state elements.
