Pakistan to brief OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi will lead the Pakistan delegation to the 43rd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) scheduled to be held in Tashkent.

OIC invites detained Hurriyet leaders for its Uzbekistan session

The CFM, to be held on October 18-19, 2016 under the theme `Education and Enlightenment - Path to Peace and Creativity', will discuss important challenges facing the Muslim Ummah, said a Foreign Office statement.

The meeting will also discuss and adopt resolutions related to political social, educational, humanitarian, economic and legal matters.

Pakistan has always proactively engaged with the OIC on all matters of importance to the Muslim Ummah.

The OIC has been providing support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for realization of their right to self-determination. Recent developments in the region, especially in the Indian Occupied Kashmir, have afforded increasing significance to our engagements with the OIC.

Tariq Fatemi will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with the OIC Foreign Ministers .
