ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain begins his four-day official visit to Tajikistan today.
During his visit, he will hold bilateral talks with the Tajik leadership to further strengthen Pakistan’s relations with this brotherly Central Asian state.
Pakistan Ambassador to Tajikistan Tariq Iqbal Soomro told APP that President Mamoon Hussain and President Emomali Rehmon during their talks are expected to discuss the whole range of bilateral ties with a view to further strengthen and diversify the relations in difference fields for mutual benefit.
He hoped that visit of Pakistan President, on the invitation of Tajik President, would further strengthen the existing close and friendly relations between the two brotherly nations.
The President will also lead Pakistani delegation at the high level two-day conference on the International Decade for Action, Water for Sustainable Development' beginning in Dushanbe on Wednesday.
The conference being hosted by Tajikistan in cooperation with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and other partners, will focus on sustainable development and integrated management of water resources for the achievement of social, economic and environmental objectives.
Ways and means will be explored for implementation and promotion of related programmes and projects and the furtherance of cooperation and partnerships at all levels in order to help achieve internationally agreed water-related goals and targets.
