PM Nawaz Sharif lands in Jeddah, will celebrate Eid in London with family

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, along with his family members, reached Jeddah where he was received by Deputy Governor of Makkah Prince Abdullah.

As is the usual practice of the premier, he will spend the last days of Ramzan in the kingdom.

During the visit, Nawaz Sharif will perform Umrah and also offer prayers in Masjid-e-Nabvi in Madina.

The prime minister will depart for London on June 26 for a medical check-up and will celebrate Eidul Fitr there along with his family members who are accompanying him on this trip. The prime minister is expected to return home on June 30.

The premier had on May 30, 2016, undergone open-heart surgery in London after he was diagnosed with a heart complication by doctors.

Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain held a meeting with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz in Makkah to discuss matters pertaining to bilateral relatons, mutual interest and the situation in South Asia and Middle East.

The president appreciated the Saudi government for excellent arrangements for the pilgrims during Ramzan.

President of Yemen Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and Speaker National Assembly of Kuwait Marzooq bin Ali Al-Ghanim also held meetings with President Mamnoon Hussain, who left for home after performing Umrah.
