PTI candidate who used COAS, CJ photos on poster now allowed to contest

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate, who was barred from taking part in the general elections for using photos of the chief justice and the army chief on his election campaign posters, has now been allowed to contest the polls, reported.

Nasir Cheema, who is the PTI candidate from PP-53 Gujranwala, was disqualified by the Election Commission over violation of electoral rules.

Cheema had included pictures of Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nasir and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on his election posters.

Cheema had challenged his disqualification in the Lahore High Court, which ruled in his favour, overthrowing the commission’s decision. AP
