PM Imran Khan receives unprecedented response from international community

*ISLAMABAD - The prime ministers of China and the United Kingdom congratulated Imran Khan on becoming Pakistan’s 22nd prime minister.*

Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang appreciated his Pakistani counterpart’s positive remarks on supporting the development of China-Pakistan relations. He added the bilateral ties between Pakistan and India has witnessed healthy and steady development despite the challenges of the time and the changing global situation.

British Prime Minister Theresa May felicitated Imran and said new paths of partnerships will be opened with Pakistan in different sectors.

Imran has previously said money laundering is a serious issue for developing countries and has sought Britain’s support in efforts to counter money laundering.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also wrote a congratulatory letter to Pakistan’s prime minister. He hoped for the deepening of UN-Pakistan cooperation in various fields, including peacekeeping operations around the globe.

Earlier the Prime Minister of India, Saudi King and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman have also telephoned Imran Khan.
