LHC announces verdict on petition against PCB Chairman Najam Sethi

LAHORE  – Lahore High Court (LHC) has announced the verdict in the petition filed against PCB Chairman Najam Sethi

LHC has dismissed petition against Najam Sethi as non-maintainable, rejecting the claim that his appointment as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman is illegal.

Justice Mamoon-ur-Rasheed heard the petition. PCB’s lawyer Tafzal Rizvi argued that the appointment of Najam Sethi as PCB chief is in line with the constitution and legal framework of the cricket body. Petitioner Nasir Iqbal refuted to his arguments saying appointment of Sethi and extension given to Atif Aijaz as board of governor are illegal. He said the directions given by former premier Nawaz Sharif became ineffective after his disqualification.
