Russia sees no need for UN inquiry into Syria chemical weapons attacks

MOSCOW:Russia has told the United Nations Security Council that there is no point in establishing a new inquiry to determine blame for chemical weapons attacks in Syria.

Russia's UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said that the United States and its allies had already acted as judge and executioner in Syria.

Meanwhile, UN security team has traveled to the Syrian town of Douma ahead of a planned visit by global chemical weapons experts today to look into a suspected poison gas attack. APP/AFP
