Atleast 338 Indian soldiers killed in Occupied Kashmir in militant attacks, reveals government data

NEW DELHI - In more than half a decade, the militancy and violence affected state of occupied Jammu and Kashmir reported over 1563 militant attacks according to an RTI query reply sort by human right activist

Between the period of January 2012 to February 2018, 1563 militant attacks took place in the valley, Times of India has reported.

Security forces also suffered heavy loss, and total 338 men were killed in action (KIO).

The ministry of home affairs MHA in its letter with RTI reply, stated, that, state of Jammu and Kashmir has been affected by terrorist and secessionist violence, for more than two and half decades.

According to the MHA data, the highest number of militant attacks 342 were in 2017 in which 213 militants were eliminated, followed by 322 attacks in 2016 and 222 in 2014. The highest number of civilian casualties of 40 were also in 2017 followed by 28 deaths in 2014 and 17 in 2015.
