According to Wasim, Babar's captaincy has been adversely affected by the lack of support, making it difficult for him to deliver peak performances in crucial matches
He expressed his views on the dynamics between team captains and players. He emphasized that it's a customary practice for a team captain to have candid conversations with players, especially following losses or poor performances. Such discussions are considered a normal part of team management, and captains are well within their rights to address issues within the team, as Wasim stated during a television show.
However, Wasim also noted his concern about the leaking of these private discussions that occur within the dressing room. He stressed that making these confidential conversations public is not a positive development for team morale and unity. This remark was made in response to reports that suggested a disagreement between skipper Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi following a dramatic last-ball defeat against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup's Super Fours match on September 14.
