Is Nawaz Sharif eligible to contest elections? Important claim made

Ishaq Dar, the former finance minister, asserted that there are no impediments hindering the participation of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in upcoming elections, as reported by ARY News. Dar elaborated on the matter by pointing out that article 62 (1) (f), which reduced the disqualification sentence to five years, had been passed by the parliament and also received approval from the president.
This significant development now makes both former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) head Jahangir Tareen eligible to partake in electoral processes.
Furthermore, Dar refrained from commenting on PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, emphasizing the familial bond by stating that Bilawal is like a son to him. He also highlighted the collaborative nature of decision-making within the PDM coalition government during its 17-month tenure.
This assertion underscores the political dynamics and relationships among key players in Pakistan's political landscape, setting the stage for potential shifts and developments in the nation's upcoming elections
