Tele Medicine Center: KP Government launches Pakistan’s first online treatment center

PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtukhwa Monday formally launched first online treatment centre, Tele Medicines Centre in a village of Manshera district where best healthcare facilities would be provided under the supervision of senior expert doctors through online system.

Senior Provincial Minister for Health Shehram Khan Taraqai inaugurated the pilot project and assured that such centres would be extended to far flung areas of the province to provide best health-care facilities to masses at their doorstep.

He said the project is part of the provincial government’s e-governance efforts, adding that the centre would provide facilities to approximately 23,000 people of the area through online services.

He said with the use of technology many precious lives could be rescued and people would not have to travel to settle areas for best medical facilities.

The Minister said that an online system has been introduced at Tele Medicines Centre which is connected with a control room in Peshawar and nearby settle district where expert doctors would be available.

He said once a patient is brought to the center the expert doctors would give him/her treatment through online system.
