Sufficiant stock of medicines at Govt hospitals

SKARDU: Parliamentary Secretary Health, Barkat Jamil here Tuesday clarified that sufficient stock was available in all the government hospitals and dispensaries in the upper areas of Gilgit- Baltistan for treatment of patients.
Rejecting the impression of shortage of medicines in upper areas of the province, Barkat Jamil clarified that all necessary stock of medicines including life saving drugs have been delivered to hospitals and dispensaries of Skardu, Astore and other upper districts for assistance of needy patients, he told media here.
The provincial government was taking much interest in the development of health sector and instructed all the DHOs to provide best facilities to the patients.
Strict action would be taken against employees found absent from duty, he warned.
The District Health Officers were also directed to ensure supply of all medicines to all major basic health units of the province and delay in this regard would not be accepted.
