Babar, Shadab lead Pakistan to 32-run win over Sri Lanka in 2nd ODI

 

ABU DHABI: Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 32 runs in the second one-day international at Zayed Cricket Stadium on Monday.

 

Chasing the 220-run target, Sri Lanka were bundled out for 187 runs in 48 overs. Upul Tharanga hit 112 runs aided by 14 fours. Vandersay (22), Thirimane (12) and Menis were other main scorers.

 

Shadab Khan took three wickets for 47 runs. Junaid Khan, Rumman Raees, Hassan Ali, Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik got one wicket each.

 

Earlier, Pakistan amassed 219 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Babar Azam smashed sparkling 101, while Shadab Khan (52) was another main scorer.

 

Lahiru Gamage grabbed for wickets for 57 runs, while Perera got two wickets. Lakmal and Vandersay took one wicket each.

 

The third ODI will be played Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on October 29.
