Deputy Commissioner of Lahore Rafia Haider took action on Friday by issuing a 30-day detention order for fashion designer Khadija Shah under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order.
The order cited concerns about Shah's activities, stating that her current residence in Lahore Cantt is deemed prejudicial to public safety and the maintenance of public order. Additionally, it was reported by SP Cantt Division, Lahore, and the District Intelligence Branch that Shah is an active member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
DC Haider explained that the decision to detain Shah was motivated by the belief that her activities might disturb the law and order situation.
This move follows Shah being granted post-arrest bail in connection to a case related to the torching of police vehicles during the riots on May 9.
Khadija Shah, identified as a PTI activist, had previously been implicated in four cases linked to the attack on the Lahore Corps Commander’s House, commonly known as Jinnah House.
The detention order reflects authorities' concerns about her potential involvement in activities that could jeopardize public safety and disrupt the maintenance of public order.
