Two Pakistani authors Kamila Shamsie, Mohsin Hamid named for prestigious international award

*ISLAMABAD - Two Pakistani authors, Kamila Shamsie and Mohsin Hamid have earned laurels for the country.*

*Both have been shortlisted for the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature 2018 that comes with $25,000.*

They have been chosen for the prestigious prize for their books *Home Fire* and *Exit West* respectively. Shamsie’s seventh book won the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2018 earlier this year.

Hamid’s fourth novel was counted by former US president Barack Obama as one of his top 10 reads of 2017. Earlier, Shamsie and Hamid were nominated for the coveted Man Booker Prize.

The six shortlisted authors for the DSC prize were revealed at a special event at the London School of Economics and Political Science on Wednesday evening. Later, they also took to Twitter to make the announcement.
