Lahore's Orange Line Metro Train conducts trial run

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz inaugurated the test run of Orange Line Metro train from Dera Gujran to Lakshmi Chowk in Lahore on Wednesday. The train's route will be over twenty seven kilometer long.

According to the officials, nearly 2,25,000 commuters will travel through this modern, swift, comfortable and safe mean of transportation every day, covering the distance of two and a half hours in just forty-five minutes. 

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shhabaz Sharif said that the orange line metro train will go a long way in providing state-of-the-art and economical mode of transportation to the people.

Talking to media during his trip in the test run train, the chief minister congratulated the citizens of Lahore on the commencement of the orange line metro train service.

He said teachers, students, common citizens, laborers and people from all walks of life will benefit from Orange Line Metro Train.

Addressing a public gathering at the Luxmi Chowk in Lahore, he said that Imran Khan created hurdles and hampered massive development which led to irretrievable losses to the nation. 

He said no development has taken place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite all tall claims by PTI leadership.  AP
