Pak-US conflict for F-16 demonstrates distance between both countries: Asif Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari said that Pak-US conflict over the matter of F-16 aircrafts funding is a clear proof of distance between two countries.


In his statement, Asif Ali Zardari pointed out that Pakistani nation consist of youth which are playing an important role in the development of Pakistan while Pakistan has emerged as a strong democratic country in the region due to peace and progress.


Pakistan is on the way of progress while western countries are investing in Pakistan which is a good sign, Zardari explained stating that Pakistani nation is still facing challenges of terrorists groups and Talibans in Afghanistan have again strengthened their groups after 15 years of Afghan war.


Talking about Pak-US relations, both countries relations strengthened due to threats of Russia in the region but now this strong alliance is becoming weak due to anti-state elements.


He highlighted that US administration admired needs of Pakistan in order to counter the scourge of terrorism but US Congress particularly Senator Bob Corker is against the F-16 jets deal with Pakistan.


He expressed his hope that USA would meet the necessities of Pakistan in fight against terrorism.
