PM Imran Khan seek debate on national security

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday in Islamabad launched the Advisory Portal of the National Security Division.

According to the details, Imran Khan attended the inaugural session of National Security Dialogue as the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that there is a need to debate on the national security. Imran Khan said that the security forces of Pakistan have sacrificed their lives to defend the borders and to prevail peace in the country. ‘The goals of national security are very broad,’ said PM.

Imran said that Pakistan will benefit the most from regional peace, whereas without regional peace Pakistan’s geographical importance will be exploited.

Imran Khan said that, poverty is biggest challenge at the moment, and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf government is doing its best to overcome the crisis. Prime Minister said that, a country that witnesses wobbling poverty is not safe. Imran Khan said that China lifted 700 million people out of poverty in 35 years. ‘Subsidies are provided to benefit the poor.’ PM said.

He also added that the matter of ‘climate change’ did not came under considerations in Pakistan during the past 5 years.

Commenting about the Afghan peace process, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Islamabad is doing best to prevail peace on Afghan soil as regional peace depends on stable Afghanistan.

Earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Moeed Yousuf said that they are working to highlight the positive aspects of Pakistan to the world.

The two-day conference is being organized by the National Security Division in collaboration with its Advisory Board, comprising five leading think tanks of Pakistan.

This conference is based on a comprehensive security framework in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of peace, regional connectivity and development partnerships with the global community.

Moreover, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will be the guest of honour on the second day of the conference.
