Pakistan wants peace, resolve issues through dialogue with India: FM

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi says there is Islamophobia in Europe and some malicious elements are entertaining their intentions and influencing internal politics.

Talking to media in Multan today, he said that security should be provided to Mosques as it was provided to churches, temples and other worship places.

Strongly condemning the terrorism incident in New Zealand, Shah Mahmood Qureshi termed it a global phenomenon and murder of humanity.

He assured that Pakistan government will extend all out support and cooperation towards the Pakistani families residing in New Zealand.

About Kartarpur Corridor project, the minister said that a Pakistani delegation visited Attari border recently to finalize terms and conditions for opening of border at Kartarpur.

It was for the first time after suspension of dialogue process between Pakistan and India that the two countries issued a joint statement.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi the United Nations, Russia, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other friendly countries helped de-escalate the tensions with India, and we are thankful to them.

To a question about China, Qureshi said that China was a great friend of Pakistan. It had always supported Pakistan at different international forums.

The Foreign Minister said he is visiting China from Sunday to exchange views with the Chinese leadership on the latest prevailing situation, especially the tensions with India.

Addressing a ceremony in Multan today, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi categorically stated that Pakistan will respond in a befitting manner if the enemy casts an evil eye on Pakistan.

He said I categorically tell the Indian Prime Minister to think twice before any aggression, as the enthusiasm of people is very high and the country is more safe and secure than in the past.

The Minister said it is my responsibility to sensitise people that conspiracies are being hatched against the homeland.

However, Pakistan armed forces are alert to foil aggressive moves of the enemy. 

The Foreign Minister appreciated the unity among people to respond to foreign aggression in an amicable way.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said March 23 will be observed with national zeal and zest.
