Pakistan and Turkmenistan ink 8 accords including combating terrorism financing
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that TAPI gas pipeline is an iconic project and it will be very helpful to meet the needs of the industries in Pakistan who are suffering energy crisis.
As per details, Pakistan and Turkmenistan have inked 8 accords including cooperation to stop terrorists financing. PM Nawaz and President Turkmenistan participated in the signing ceremony of accords here at PM House.
8 MOUs were signed in the ceremony to enhance the cooperation in different fields including energy, education, trade, economy and exchange of financial intelligence related to money laundering and terrorism financing between both countries.
While addressing the signing ceremony, PM Nawaz said that Pakistan and Turkmenistan have close and cordial relations which are further strengthening with the passage of time. PM added that Pakistan will import 1000 Megawatt electricity from Turkmenistan.
While inviting the Central Asian Countries, PM said that they should use our deep sea port for trade purposes that will help enhance regional links which is also one significant component of our vision 2025.
Speaking at the occasion Turkmenistan president said that he wants to see Pakistan making progress while both countries could work together to promote peace in the region. TAPI gas pipeline project will bring economic stability in the region.
