SC rejects Sindh govt petition over hospitals' ownership

Supreme Court has rejected Sindh government's petition seeking control of three major hospitals in Karachi under the 18th Constitutional Amendment.

A three-member bench of the court headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar issued the short order while hearing the case in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The Chief Justice, who read out the short order, said that reasons behind the judgment will be listed in the detailed verdict later.

The Sindh government in its petition had sought the management control of Jinnah Post Graduate Medical College, National Institute of Cardio Vascular Diseases and National Institute of Child Health pleading that the health subject falls under the provincial government following the 18th Constitutional Amendment.
