PML-N, PPP hatching conspiracies against Mohmand Dam: Vawda

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda said leaders of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) were hatching conspiracies through their propaganda campaigns against the construction of the Mohmand Dam.

Talking to a private news channel, the minister said there was a need to be united on the country’s national projects like construction of Mohmand Dam, which should be made controversial.
He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan would bring revolutionary reforms in every fields of life, besides ensuring basic facilities of life at the doorsteps of the poor.

He said the government was trying to manage the country’s financial matters and strengthen the economy without the support of International Momentary Fund (IMF).
It was the prime focus of the PTI government to utilize other financial resources including the friendly countries for boosting the economy rather approaching IMF for a bailout package, he added.

Replying to a question regarding removal of PPP leaders' name from the Exit Control List, the minister said the federal cabinet would decide the matter in the light of the court decision.
Answering another question, Vawda said the government affairs could not be run on the wishes of opposition, which had the right to criticize, but not that of hatching conspiracies against the country.

He said the construction of Mohmand Dam was necessary to safeguard the future of people.
