US, allies agree on tougher maritime controls on N Korea

The United States and 19 of its closest allies have agreed on tougher maritime interdiction to prevent North Korea from evading nuclear sanctions through smuggling.

Speaking after international talks in Vancouver, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the allies do not want to interfere with legitimate shipping but warned that action must be taken to stop sanctions-busting ship-to-ship transfers at sea.
