Police detains man resembling with Zainab murder suspect

LAHORE: Police have arrested a man suspected of having resemblance with Zainab rape and murder suspect during a raid in the provincial capital’s Bhatta Chowk area on Wednesday.
As per details, on a tip off, police carried out a raid in Lahore’s Bhatta Chowk and arrested a man having resemblance with Zainab rape and murder suspect.
The arrested man was identified as Umer Farooq, who confessed to raping and killing the minor girls.
Police officers, including DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf interrogated the suspect, while his blood samples were sent to the lab for DNA Test.
Dr Haider said that the suspects was handed over to Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe Zainab murder case.
