Mardan’s four year girl was raped before murder: doctors

MARDAN: Mardan’s four-year girl, whose body was found dumped in the sugarcane field on Sunday evening, was sexually assaulted before she was strangulated to death, claimed the district nazim and local doctors.
Talking to media, district Nazim Himayatullah Mayar, referring to the postmortem report, said the toddler was raped before she was murdered and there were marks of bruises found on her body.
The local bodies official said the baby girl was playing outside her house located in Gojar Ghari when she was picked, adding she was taken to the nearby sugarcane field where she was subjected to sexual assault.
Voicing dissatisfaction with the police, he complained police were trying to present the case as simple murder case without sexual assault on a girl who went missing on Saturday evening.
Mayar alleged the police are distorting facts in order to just save the image of provincial government and deplored that no one from the provincial government visited the family of the victim nor did they condemn the incident.
The district nazim also censured the media for turning a blind eye to the incident.
The relatives of the victim also said they suspect the toddler was subjected to sexual abuse before she was killed.
Meantime, the doctors at the district headquarters hospital revealed on the condition of anonymity that they are 95 per cent sure that the baby girl was raped.
“The incident is similar to that of Zainab – the incident that took place in Kasur,” said a relative and accused the police of cooking up an alternative story to feed the media and people.
The same relative also revealed that police pressured Zahir Mohammad, the complainant in the case and maternal uncle of the victim to stay away from media.
“Police gave us three days for results of the forensic test of the swabs taken from the body of the victim,” he said adding the deadline ends today.
He announced that the family will launch protest if the real forensic test result was not given to it
