Indian Army Captain hit by crossfire at LoC

JAMMU: Pakistani troops opened fire at Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Tuesday evening in retaliation to the Indian Army fire, injuring an Indian Army Captain, officials said.

"There was a ceasefire violation by the Indian Army. They resorted to firing along the LoC in Chakan Da Bagh area in Poonch this evening.

The Pakistani troops retaliated and the exchange of fire continued till late night. The injured Army Captain has been hospitalised, Indian Army has said.

The latest ceasefire violation came a day after four Pakistani Army men, were martyred after ceasefire violations by the Indian Army in Poonch.

Authorities had on Monday suspended the cross-LoC bus service between Chakan Da Bagh and Rawalakot, following heightened tension on the LoC.
