Kashmiris flood streets to attend funeral prayers of martyred Mujahidin in IHK

MUZAFFARABAD: (APP) Thousands of Kashmiri people despite of heavy snow fall and chilly cold attended funeral prayers of three martyred Mujahidin who embraced martyrdom during an encounter with Indian forces in Bijibehara the Southern town Islamabad(Anantnag) district, the reports said reached from IHK here on Monday.

According to the details, thousands of people from native villages of martyred Mujahidin and the people of other areas also thronged in the funeral.

Meanwhile, massive protests erupted in Bijbehara area of Islamabad district in southern part of Kashmir against the killing of three Mujahidin in an encounter with forces in Awoora village of Pahalgam.

Locals said that the trio was killed after forces blasted the house in which they were holed up.

The three slain militants have been identified as Adil Ahmad Reshi, Abid Ahmad Sheikh and Masood Ahmad Shah, all residents of Bijbehara tehsil.

As the news of their martyrdom spread like wild fire, people took to the streets despite the heavy snowfall and freezing temperature staged strong protests against the Indian occupational forces and the puppet administration.

All shops and other business establishments remained closed in the town and other place in the valley.
