President launches spring tree plantation campaign

President Mamnoon Hussain launched spring tree plantation campaign in the country by planting a sapling at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Friday.

Addressing the ceremony, the President said conservation of forests is significant for climate protection and sustainable economy.

He said Green Pakistan programme will help cope with the climate change issue and we should plant maximum saplings to save our climate.

Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah Khan said plantation campaign under Green Pakistan program is underway across the country.

Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain says people with less resources in Pakistan are enjoying good health facilities due to prudent policies of the government.

He was talking to a delegation of Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh led by Professor Derek Bell called on President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad on Friday.

The President said the government has taken several steps to provide cost-effective healthcare facilities to people, and Punjab Government's measures have produced better results in this regard.

Professor Derek Bell told the President that his institution is considering proposals to provide training to young doctors in Pakistan.
