TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javed Zarif warned Saudi Arabia over sending ground troops to Syria and claimed that it will be a violation of international law.

Zarif was addressing the European lawmakers in a conference held at European Parliament at Brussels.

He claimed that whoever is operating in Syria without permission of Syrian government is violating international law.

Zarif claimed that Iranian ground troops are not fighting in Syria but only military advisors are there on the request of Syrian President Bashar ul Assad.

He claimed that deploying military in Syria is not a solution, we need a political solution for the Syrian crisis.

He criticized Saudi Arabia for throwing its weight behind rebels who are fighting against the Syrian government.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed and millions have been driven away from their homes in Middle East conflict.
