Indian soldier killed in Handwara attack

ISLAMABAD: In Indian occupied Kashmir, an Indian soldier was killed in an attack in Kupwara district Friday morning.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the personnel of Indian Army’s 32 Rashtriya Rifles were attacked while they were conducting a cordon and search operation at Kachlu Kralgund in Handwara area of the district. One soldier was killed in the attack. The operation continued till last reports came in.
On the other hand, clashes between protesters and Indian troops and police personnel erupted after the forces’ personnel cordoned off Mir Mohalla in Hajin area of Bandipora district and started house-to-house searches. The forces’ personnel used teargas shells to disperse the protesters. Clashes were going on in the area when this report was filed.
Meanwhile, the occupation authorities have suspended Internet services in Bandipora and Hajin areas. APP/AFP
