First resolution passed with consensus in National Assembly of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - The National Assembly of Pakistan adopted a resolution with consensus which condemns the holding of contest of blasphemous caricatures in the Netherlands.
The resolution was jointly moved by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Peoples Party and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal.
It said the holding of contest will promote extremism and violence across the world.
The text of the resolution urged the government of Pakistan to raise this issue at appropriate international forums.
The house has now been prorogued.
