India cannot challenge and weaken Pakistan :Minister

QUETTA: (APP) Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal Wednesday said Indian Prime Minister's recent statements had exposed its nefarious designs to damage Pakistan's interests.

He expressed the confidence that India could not challenge and weaken this powerful country.

He said Pakistan is a free and independent county. "Our armed forces and state institutions are alert to face and foil the nefarious designs of enemies" he added.

He was speaking to media persons at the Balochistan High Court premises.

He visited Balochistan Bar Council and condoled with the lawyer leaders on killings of lawyers in Quetta civil hospital suicide blast incident. He expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the Quetta tragedy.

The Federal Minister said that enemies of Pakistan were involved in hatching conspiracies to put hurdles and obstacles in execution of China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

"Nefarious designs and conspiracies of our enemies against CPEC will be foiled at any cost and CPEC would be implemented in letter and spirit," he said.

"CPEC will not roll back. Pakistan will get central position in the region after implementation of CPEC projects."

The Minister said that law and order situation has improved markedly as foreign investors had started heading towards Pakistan to invest in different sectors.

"Few years back, investors and industrialists were reluctant but now they had started to invest in different sectors," he added.

He said that the government would provide compensation to the families of victims of Quetta civil hospital suicide blast.
