Unpredictable Pakistan named among World Cup favourites by former English Skipper

*ISLAMABAD - Former England captain Nasser Hussain has termed Pakistan, which has not been among the most dominating One Day International (ODI) side recently, capable of lifting the upcoming ICC World Cup trophy. *

“Talking of hit and miss, look at Pakistan. They’re playing terrible one-day cricket at the moment but that almost makes them more dangerous,” said Nasser, quoted *Metro.co.uk link*.

“One day they’re down and the next they’re brilliant, as they showed in the Champions Trophy [in 2017]. So it’s wide open, it really is,” he added.

The batsman-turned-cricket commentator was of the view that India and hosts England may boost reputable ODI sides, but there are other teams including New Zealand and West Indies that can turn the table in the tournament.

“New Zealand are a very fine side and their record recently is exceptional. West Indies can be a bit hit and miss but just look at some of their cricketers,” he said.
