Arrest warrants issued against PIA CEO and other top officers

*LAHORE: A civil court in Lahore has issued arrest warrants for four top officers of the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) in a contempt of court case.*

The court issued bailable warrants for officers who didn’t turn up before the court carrying progress report of the court orders.

The arrest orders were issued by civil judge Muhammad Akram Azad.

The warrants were issued for CEO PIA Arshad Malik, Director Flight Operations Captain Aziz Khan, Chief Human Resource Officer Air Vice Marshal Subhan Wazir and Chief Pilot Captains Ali Zaman.

The officers are facing charges of not restoring Captain Mian Shehzad on his post despite the court orders. The petitioner had challenged his suspension in a civil court.

It may be noted here that the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Dec 29, 2018 had dismissed four captains among 50 officials from service over holding fake degrees.
