Indian forces’ inhumanity has become order of the day: Mirwaiz

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of his Hurriyet forum has said that inhumanity demonstrated by the Indian forces has become the order of the day in Kashmir as youth are being targeted and killed with each passing day in the territory.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who is under house arrest for more than a month, in a statement in Srinagar said, "Cold blooded murder of Sajjad Hussain Sheikh at Batamaloo in Srinagar is a heinous crime," Kashmir Media Service reported.

The Mirwaiz said that youth were subjected to torture, harassment and humiliation as various shocking videos being circulated on the internet.

"Tying people to jeeps parading them through villages and using them as human shields, coercing young college students and beating them till they bleed while forcing them to chant certain slogans shows open endorsement rather pursuance of the policy of revenge and punishment by the Indian state against a people demanding their basic political right," he added.

India needs to understand that repeated atrocities, repression and highhandedness have outlived effectiveness as an instrument of taming Kashmiris, he added.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq extended his sympathy with the bereaved family of Sajjad. (APP)
