KARACHI: Imran Khan has decided to help the ex MQM leader Saleem Shahzad in fighting his cancer desease.

Upon request of former leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Saleem Shahzad, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has consented to bear expenditures for his cancer treatment and provide all the facilities in this regard.

Imran Khan , the founder of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, has constituted a two-member committee of PTI Karachi leaders, Imran Ismail and Ali Zaidi, to provide all the facilities to Saleem Shahzad for his treatment.

Imran Ismail and Ali Zaidi will go to the central jail on Tuesday to assure the former MQM leader on behalf of the PTI chief to provide all the required facilities regarding his health.

Saleem Shahzad, a liver cancer patient, is not satisfied with the medical treatment he is getting at jail and thus has requested the founder of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital to help him get better treatment. He is reportedly in a critical condition.

“Putting aside all the political differences, kindly, help me get proper medical treatment,” said Shahzad.

Soon after he had landed in Karachi ending years long self-exile in February 2017, the former MQM leader was arrested from airport on charges of several cases filed against him when he was abroad.

He was among many MQM leaders who had distanced themselves with the party founder Altaf Hussain following his Aug 14, 2016’s “anti-Pakistan” speech.
