I told Army Chief, PTI will not tolerate rigging in next Elections: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf Imran Khan has revealed interesting things about his meeting with the COAS General Qamar Bajwa.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said on Monday that Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa had voiced support for democracy in the country during the recent meeting with him.

Speaking to Hamid Mir on Geo News show “Capital Talk”, the PTI chief said that he had discussed with the COAS various matters including Gen (retd) Raheel Sharif’s appointment as Islamic military alliance chief and tension on the Pak-Afghan border.

Imran said he had told the Army Chief that his party would not allow any rigging in the next elections.

The PTI chief had held a meeting with Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on April 1.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan has directed PTI leaders Ali Zaidi and Imran Ismail to visit Karachi’s Central Jail to meet with former MQM leader Saleem Shehzad.

According to a PTI statement issued on Monday, Shehzad had appealed to Imran Khan for assistance in medical treatment.
