PM Imran Khan chairs high level meeting in Islamabad

Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the authorities concerned to finalize reforms in the subsidy system of the energy sector as early as possible to provide assistance to poor and deserving people in a transparent manner.
Chairing a high level meeting regarding reforms in power sector in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said government is working on a priority basis to make the subsidy system transparent.
The Prime Minister also directed that public should be regularly briefed on issues related to the power sector.
He said the entire burden of decisions, mismanagement and corruption in past has been borne by the people.
Stressing on the importance of taking forward the issues agreed upon with the IPPs, the Prime Minister said reduction in circular debt will directly benefit the people.
