Kashmiris to stage protest rally against India in front of UN General Assembly
ISLAMABAD: (APP) Former AJK Prime Minister, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry on Friday announced that Kashmiris would stage a strong protest demonstration against Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir, in front of UN Office during address of Indian Prime Minister Narindra Modi or Indian Foreign Minister in the UN General Assembly.
The Kashmiris would also hold protest rallies at several European cities including London, Brussels, Paris, and the Hague.
Talking to media at his residence, he said, the Kashmiri freedom fighters were fully protesting against Indian subjugation in the held valley, adding, sitting idle on this occasion would damage ongoing movement for the right to self-determination against Indian occupation.
He reiterated his resolve to highlight Kashmir issue at international fora irrespective of that he was member of the AJK Legislative Assembly or not.
Sultan Mahmood, who is scheduled to soon leave for New York to lead the demonstration, said, he would expose India before the world community during the protest rally.
This demonstration would be held not only against the Indian subjugation, but also put pressure on the top leadership to forcefully raise voice of Kashmiris in the UN General Assembly.
He said, Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir have announced one-week protest programme which reflects that they would not come under Indian pressure and they would continue their struggle against Indian atrocities.
He said, the time has come to raise our voice in favour of Kashmiris.
He also announced that permission for the protest demonstration in New York has been sought.
He appealed to all political parties, social organizations and religious parties of Azad Kashmir to fully participate in the demonstration to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.
