Pakistan government is going for second lockdown across the country?

Amid ‘unmistakable signs of the resurgence of coronavirus’ in Pakistan, the government is mulling over options to re-impose restrictions to curb the spread.

Minister for Planning Development, Asad Umar, who also oversees the government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, said this in a series of tweets on Thursday. ------------------------------

He urged masses to take precautionary measures such as face masks and social distancing to avoid contracting the virus.

The minister warned of another lockdown if cases continue to rise.

We may have to take restrictive actions which have negative effects on people’s livelihoods.

Asad Umar also revealed that the positivity rate in the last 24 hours was at 2.37 percent, the highest in more than 50 days.
