Islamabad High Court announced verdict in petitions against JUI - F Chief Fazalur Rahman

ISLMABAD - Islamabad High Court announced verdict in petitions against JUI - F Chief Fazalur Rahman.The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday dismissed all petitions against the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) anti-government ‘Azadi March’ and remarked that no court in the world can abolish the right of demonstration, GNN reported.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Athar Minullah remarked that no court can abolish right of demonstration over which, the claimant said that there is a right to protest against policy but not democratic government.

The court instructed the local administration to protect the rights of the protesters as well those of those who weren’t protesting.

The IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah also instructed the Islamabad administration to look into the matter as per the law.

Justice Minallah recalled that in 2014, the same court had allowed the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) to protest.
