ISLAMABAD – New developments have been reported in the Supreme Court of Pakistan over the issue of missing persons.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday sought details of persons who went missing since 2011 from the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disapperances.
A two-member bench under the chair of Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik heard the missing persons case. The commission submitted its monthly report according to which 3,500 cases out of the registered 5,430 have been cleared.
The report says that at least 1,868 cases pertaining to missing persons remain pending, whereas 74 new cases were registed in September this year.
