Former CM Shahbaz Sharif’s sons likely to be placed on ECL

ISLAMABAD - Former CM Shahbaz Sharif’s sons are likely to be placed on ECL.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recommended to place the names of the sons of former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz Sharif and Salman Shehbaz, on the Exit Control List (ECL).

NAB, in its letter to the Interior Ministry, says that Hamza and Salman were under investigation and should not be allowed to leave the country. Both the sons of the former CM were facing a NAB inquiry related to the construction of a bridge in Chiniot, which allegedly facilitated the Ramzan Sugar Mills - owned by the Sharif family.

According to the bureau, Rs200 million were paid from the national exchequer for the construction of the bridge.
