COAS raises serious concerns with CENTCOM Commander over cross border attacks from Afghanistan

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed his concerns regarding the cross border attacks from Afghanistan during his interaction with  United States Central Command (CENTCOM) chief General Joseph L Votel on Thursday.

According to a press release issued by the  Inter-Services Public Relations, the military head discussed regional security situation regarding Pak-Afghan border management and Pakistan’s positive contributions towards peace and stability in the region.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that peace in Afghanistan was more important for Pakistan than any other country.

The official also reiterated that Pakistan had done its best despite constraints and shall continue efforts for the sake of it’s future, in line with aspirations of Pakistani people.

‘The same was not being reciprocated as evident from the continued attacks from across the border’ the COAS declared according to the communiqué.

On the other hand, General Joseph appreciated and acknowledged Pakistan Army’s contributions and Pakistan’s sacrifices in War against terror.

It bears mentioning that during the recent past, there has been a burgeoning rise in the attacks from across the border, a reminiscent of which is killing of  two soldiers, Army’s Captain Junaid Hafeez and Sepoy Raham on Monday.
