Nepal Army Chief visit to Pakistan irks India

ISLAMABAD - Nepal's Army Chief landed in Pakistan on an official tour. His tour to Pakistan has raised eye brows in India. India has been sceptical of rising Pakistan, Nepal and China ties.

During his Pakistan tour he met with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in Islamabad.

He said Pakistan has always endeavored to maintain friendly relations with all regional countries and peace in the region. He was talking to Nepalese Chief of Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister expressed the hope that relations between Pakistan and Nepal, including cooperation in defence sector, will be further strengthened.

He said Pakistan has rendered huge sacrifices in the war against terrorism both in economic terms and loss of precious lives.

The Nepalese Army Chief conveyed warm greetings of the Prime Minister of Nepal Khagda Parsad Oli to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

He also appreciated the high level of professionalism of Pakistan military and acknowledged their sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
