More than 43,000 search operations conducted in Punjab under NAP: Punjab IG

LAHORE: Punjab IG Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera said that the menace of militancy and sectarianism would not be tolerated by police in Punjab and all possible efforts would be made to eradicate militancy and sectarianism.
While addressing the participants of the 104th National Management course during their visit to the Central Police Office, CPO Lahore he said that Punjab Police is making all possible efforts to ensure the law and order situation of the province.
He pointed out that more than 43,000 search operations have been conducted by Punjab Police under the National Action Plan NAP while 7274 cases have been registered during the last 18 months. 154,490 vehicles had been impounded due to absence of number plates in the same period.
Talking about the banned outfits he made it clear that banned organization are being monitored strictly by Punjab Police and even they are not allowed to hold any activity.
Intelligence information is being shared by Punjab Police with other security agencies to jointly fight against criminals and terrorists. IG added.
