Indo-Pak Foreign Secretaries meet at 37 SAARC Summit

KHATMANDU: Indo-Pak Foreign Secretaries met at 37th SAARC Summit in Pokhra Nepal.

Pakistan Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhary met with his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar in Nepal during breakfast.

The reports claimed that it was an informal meeting.

This is the first meeting after the Pathankot attacks due to which  foreign secretary level talks were postponed between India and Pakistan.

India claimed that Pakistani non-state actors were involved in attacks who belonged to JeM Chief Masood Azhar.

An FIR has also been registered in Gujranwala city of Pakistan and a Pakistani investigation team is also scheduled to visit Pathankot air base in India.

Despite of this, both countries are in touch with each other and share intelligence reports.

Recently Indian forces arrested three terrorists out of 10 from Gujrat on a intelligence report of Pakistan about terroists infiltration who crossed border and entered in India.

Foreign Affairs advisor of PM Nawaz Sharif, Sartaj Aziz is likely to meet with India’s External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on March 17 in Nepal.

It is hoped that the meeting will break the ice and a positive outcome is expected to prepare ground for peace talks.
