Denmark declared as World’s happiest country: Research report
DENMARK: Denmark is declared as World’s happiest country by World Happiness Report 2016 with a rating of 7.526.
The report was based on data of 157 countries which was collected during survey from 2013 to 2015.
Seven western countries fall in top 10 category.
Jafferey Sachs, director of The Earth Institute at Columbia University said “Measuring self reported happiness and achieving well-being should be on every nation’s agenda they begin to pursue to the Sustainable Development Goals.”
He claimed that some countries have also appointed ministers of happiness but the results are not satisfactory.
He claimed that the average happiness around the world is around 5.1.
The most least happy countries include Benin with a rating of 3.484, Afghanistan with 3.360, Togo with 3.303 and Burundi 2.905 reported.
He claimed that people tend to be happier in societies that have more equal levels of happiness among its people.
