UN report on HR abuses in IOK welcomed

SRINAGAR: In Occupied Kashmir, senior resistance leaders have welcomed the UN report that highlighted the gross human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar appealed to the World Body to pressurize India to implement the UN resolutions on Kashmir to pave way for permanent peace and prosperity in the South Asian region.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in his address to Juma congregation in Srinagar said that the UN report reflected the ground situation of occupied Kashmir.

Muhammad Yasin Malik said that UN report highlighting their miseries had actually come as a ray of hope to them.

Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo and other Hurriyet leaders in their statements also appreciated the UN report.
